Pride of Africa
For the last 4 years I have entered pictures into the PAWS (Paint a Wildlife Subject) run by Roy Chaffin.
I was always lucky enough to be selected as a finalist. In Roy's very last competition, the winners of each category and a selected number
of finalists were asked to enter. I was honoured to be included and my Sense of Pride picture was chosen.
The background was from a picture I took at Moholoholo wildlife reserve on the edge of the Kruger National Park.
South Africa is one of the most magical places in the world and Moholoholo is a wonderful reserve and well worth a visit.
The old lion who was in
the original photo was sad and toothless so I 'replaced' him in the painting with a family of lions from the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
This painting is on velour and is around A3 size. It is not for sale and belongs to my very good friend Di Beadle.
