Madagascar

madagascar
I was fortunate to go to Madagascar this year.
On the tiny island of Nosy Komba (Lemur Island) at the very Northern tip of Madagascar the troop of black Lemurs are almost tame.
To the call of 'Maki Maki Maki' (a local name for lemurs) the trees are alive with these lovely, curious creatures. The male ones are indeed black, but the females are a lovely golden brown colour. Anyone holding bananas will be lucky enough to have a lemur sit on their shoulders.
They reach out with long and nimble fingers to grab the treat.

This picture is pastel on Art Spectrum and is approximately A3 size (around 22" x 16")plus mount and frame. It is for sale (reluctantly!) at £250-00
